This ornate antique cameo ring dates back to the early 20th century and features a high relief carved pink conch shell cameo depicting a woman's head and shoulders. The cameo measures 16mm x 12mm and is a white relief with pale pink behind. The cameo is mounted into an ornate filigree setting which is made in 14ct yellow gold.

Pink Conch Shell Cameo
Pale pink cameo's generally come from pink conch or roselyn shell- symbolized with the white head on pale pink background or more rare is the angel skin coral- (overall pink/white salmon colour). The pink conch cameo may often be confused with angel skin coral due to the similar colours. The conch shell cameo revealed itself and grew in demand from the mid 18th century. Cameo's soon became one of the most popular souvenirs of a grand tour among the upper and middle classes.
