A lovely English antique engraved bangle from the Victorian era, c1883! Made of sterling silver, this delightful bangle is adorned with masterfully hand engraved ivy leaves to the front half. The bangle is further decorated with a granule-edged undulated 'garter' like design, possibly originally with a peg or buckle component albeit barely amiss amongst the richly engraved pattern and beautiful Victorian aesthetics. Back half of the bangle is plain, unadorned. The bangle is hinged and clasps to the side with a tongue connection, fastening with a firm click.
The bangle measures 2.50cm (1") wide and 17.00cm (6 & 3/4") around the inside, or 5.4cm x 5.40cm.
A crisp set of English hallmarks can be seen to the inside dating the bangle to year 1883 and Birmingham provenance. There is also the makers marks sighted "R.J.D" which is that of jeweller Robert James Dick who was once located in the jewellery district of Hylton St, Birmingham, England.

The antique bangle presents in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, and possible component (buckle/peg?) the bangle presents superbly to the eye, and engraving remains crisp. Clasp works well with firm click. A sensational antique bangle! |
