A charming French vintage marcasite bow from the Art Deco era, c1930! French hallmarked, this artful brooch depicts a gorgeous three-dimensional bow accented with sparkling marcasite stones. The fanciful design features pierced sections decorated with milgrain edging, adding further Art Deco pizzazz! A pin and secure pull-out cylinder clasp (characteristic of French design) attaches to the back. Stamped to the back of the brooch with the French 'Boar' mark (denoting 800 silver), as well makers mark in typical French lozenge-shaped frame with makers letters 'CF'.

The brooch measures 4.20cm long x 2.30cm height

The condition of the vintage brooch is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent stones missing or damage to the stones. The clasp securely fastens. A darkened patina remains to the silver surface, adding a nice contrast (this can be polished out if desired). A wonderful vintage brooch!
