A wonderful king-sized antique Scottish kilt pin brooch from the Victorian era, c1890! Rendered in sterling silver, this exquisite Scottish-themed piece is embellished with striking agate inlays including green bloodstone, burnt orange carnelian and banded Montrose agate.
The top features a 14.50mm round cut cairngorm quartz, followed by two smaller 5.00mm and 6.50mm round cut cairngorm quartz stones. All stones native to the Scottish Highlands!
A monogrammed silver plate to the top of the piece adds further history and allure - hand-engraved with "DONALD" (possibly) "WNC" and date "11.5.91" along with a 'thistle' motif. Fine hand engraved details decorate the silver, and the cairngorms are enclosed in closed-back foiled settings, giving a shimmer when moved. The solid back is smooth unadorned with a long metal pin and c-clasp attached.
The piece measures just over 5" inches (13cm long) and width from widest point measures 16mm. It weighs a sturdy 33+ grams on the scales.
