A beautiful early Australian gem-set gold bar brooch from the Edwardian era, c1910! Made of 9ct gold, this lovely double bar style brooch features a stylized central plaque flanked by two arrowheads, along with gold granules and corrugated dome ends. The fanciful design is enhanced with bright blue garnet top doublet stones and natural seed pearls. To the reverse there is a metal pin and c-connection.
The brooch presents in immaculate condition- retaining its wonderful 'bloomed' surface finish, giving a high-carat yellow satin look with slight rose gold highlights.
Crafted by one of Australia's largest iconic 20th century jewellery firms, Willis & Co, and later Willis & Sons, as denoted by the stamps to the back; 'unicorn' '9' 'W'.
The brooch measures 5.60cm long x 1.50cm max width.
