A charming vintage English scenic brooch from the mid 20th century, c1948! Made of sterling silver, this Birmingham hallmarked piece features guilloche enamel and a wonderful topographical hand painted artwork of a stone bridge in a unique squircle design.
The beautiful scene has a white guilloche border and is finely hand painted with a tranquil landscape scene with a historic three-arch stone bridge over a flowing river - the palette of colours is exquisite. A pin and c-connection secures the piece.
The reverse bears English hallmarks for Birmingham origin and the date latter stamp 'Y' denotes manufacturing year 1948. There is also 'Q.P ' stamped to the side which is likely the makers mark - unfortunately the maker is not noted on the UK silver makers marks website.
The size of the brooch measures 3.90cm (1 & ½") square.
