A charming antique brooch from the Victorian era, c1892! Made of 9ct yellow and rose gold, this beautiful piece features Etruscan Revival details and a blossoming floral hand engraved rhombus plaque to the center flanked with three leaf appliques... the pretty stylized bar design flourished with Victorian vibrancy!
To the reverse bears a crisp set of English hallmarks indicating Birmingham origin and year 1892 manufacture, the makers mark 'S' and another is time worn so difficult to ascertain. As well, there is a secure c-clasp and metal pin closure to the back of the brooch.
The brooch measures 5.00cm long and 1.70cm wide (max)

The condition of the antique brooch is excellent. Besides general surface wear, there is no damage to the mount or decorative gold work and the engraving is crisp. The pin clasp works well with good tension. A gorgeous antique piece! |
