A beautiful marcasite brooch from the late Art Deco period, c1930's! Crafted in 935 (European - German) silver, this stunning brooch features a marcasite encrusted geometric design within a marcasite-lined rectangle and scalloped border. The striking three-dimensional design also has milgrain edging, giving further Deco flair!
A pin and revolver clasp attach to the back, there is also marks "935" and "GERMANY" stamped to the back. Many nice quality hand-set marcasite pieces were produced in Germany before and after WW2 and exported across Europe.
A natural darkened patina remains on the brooch giving further antiquity charm, it can be polished if you desire.
Size of the brooch measures 5.10cm long x 2.50cm wide.

| The brooch remains in superb vintage condition. Besides normal surface wear there is no apparent damage to the silver or setting. Marcasites all appear intact with none missing. There is a natural patina on the silver setting, adding further depth of character. A wonderful vintage brooch! |
