A timeless pair of pearl teardrop earrings from the late 20th century! Made of 9ct yellow gold, this English hallmarked pair of earrings feature creamy white lustrous shell-based pearls. The pearls rest in claw-style caps and suspend from gorgeous Art Deco style fittings which have an unusual hinged 'knife' post fitting. The design threads through the lobe hole and once in the hinged post folds over securely behind the lobe, giving a streamline look from behind. The nifty and unique design was a patent pending, hence the "PAT PEND" stamp. Other stamps include a full set of English marks denoting London origin, year 1983 (date letter stamp 'I'), "375" denoting 9ct gold.
The total drop of the earrings measure 1.90cm (19mm) and the pearls measure approximately 11mm.
