A vibrant pair of vintage ruby cluster earrings from the mid 20th century, c1960! Made of sterling silver, the pair boasts thirty-four bright purplish pink rubies scattered throughout the grape like design with textured leaves and ribbons meandering through the striking cluster.
The vibrant rubies are the older Thai material - natural earth mined type indicative of the internal inclusions (the majority of Thailand mining deposits are now depleted) adding a touch of nostalgia to the pair! Collectively, the natural Thai rubies weigh 4.08ctw, each measuring approx 2.70mm - 3.00mm diameter.
Resting in individual claw settings, the rubies are placed in a tiered wire design giving a gorgeous three-dimensional look to the earrings.
The earrings can be worn for either non-pierced lobes, or pierced lobes; the clip-on earrings are cleverly crafted with a hinged post which tucks away for non-pierced lobes or can convert to pierced by folding the post upward.
Stamped 925 denoting sterling silver.
The earrings measure 2.40cm long x 1.20cm wide.

The condition of the vintage earrings is excellent. Besides general surface wear, the mount, settings and clips are in very good order with the clips retaining a good firmness. The rubies are all securely set and the silver surface retains a nice rhodium finish (anti-tarnish) |
