A sensational antique quizzing glass pendant from the 19th century! Made of 9ct gold, this stunning functional statement pendant features beautiful, chased workmanship - the ornate heavy hand chasing of flowers and swirls indicative of the Georgian and early Victorian eras. Set with a plan glass lens, it is mounted with a coiled relief shaft, swivel mounted loop handle, and a later 9ct rose gold jump ring attaches to the top to ensure the piece hangs flat when worn.
The piece is stamped "9CT" to the shaft and tests indicate 9ct gold. As 9ct gold standard was first used around 1854 we can assume the piece was made shortly after this timeframe, or it is possible it was stamped several decades after it's manufacture.
The piece measures 7.70cm long (not including top jump ring) x 3.60cm wide frame.
