A beautiful antique locket from the Victorian era, c1880! Made of sterling silver with rose gold appliqués, this stunning and unique rectangular design locket features an artful design embraced from the Japonesque Aesthetic movement.
Adorning the front raised panel is a hand engraved scene of a bird above foliage along with rose gold appliqués which accent across opposite corners. Inside the locket reveals a hand engraved name 'Jean Wright' (perhaps the original owner!?) and other writing difficult to decipher to the opposite side.
The locket measures 5.40cm long including bail, 2.70cm wide and 0.91cm thick.
