This exquisite vintage gold pendant, dating from the mid to late 20th century, showcases a stunning oblong shaped solid opal at its center, set in gleaming 18ct yellow gold. The solid Australian opal, which is on its natural potch back, exhibits a good splash of red, along with green, yellow, and lavender hues that create a mesmerizing pin-fire play of colour that come alive in the daylight.
The pendant's asymmetrical design is enhanced by a textured and graduated border on one side, while the opposite side elegantly transitions into three delicate wires adorned with two granules. A sturdy ring and jump ring attach to the top allowing a chain of your choice to thread through. No stamps are sighted to the piece, an XRF confirms solid 18ct yellow gold.
The pendant meaures 2.50cm total drop (inc top ring) x 1.70cm wide.
