This exquisite antique lavalier necklace, crafted by the renowned early Australian manufacturer Aronson & Co circa 1910, embodies the elegance of the Edwardian era with a hint of Art Nouveau. Made from 9ct gold, it features a delicate design adorned with four citrine gemstones and two natural seed pearls, showcasing a round-cut centerpiece and three tear-shaped drops suspended gracefully below.
The intricate craftsmanship is highlighted by handmade claw collets and a curvilinear centerpiece embellished with tulip motifs, each dotted with white seed pearls. The necklace is completed with an original cable link chain and a secure barrel clasp. It is hallmarked with a set of early Australian quality marks, a flag denoting maker (Aronson & Co jewellery firm), '9' and 'sheaf'.
The necklace was likely shortened at some stage as the clasp does not align centrally at the back neck, although this is not noticed from front view. The wearable length of the necklace measures 14.50" (37cm) and centerpiece drop measures 2" (5.20cm).
