Dating back to the mid-20th century, this exquisite double strand necklace consists of lustrous cultured Akoya pearls. The graduated knotted design showcases soft cream saltwater pearls, ranging from 3.10mm at the back to 7.30mm at the front, elegantly draping as a matinee length around the neckline, with the shorter strand measuring 52cm and the longer strand 54cm.
Each pearl exhibits a stunning luster, indicative of the older high-quality nacre. The pearls are beautifully matched and calibrated in size, each displaying a soft cream hue with silvery-rose overtones.
The necklace is hand strung on silk with knots inbetween preserving the integrity of the pearls, and strung straight onto the original sterling silver marcasite-accented clasp, adding a touch of sophistication to this timeless piece. No restringing is required as the necklace presents in pristine vintage condition.
