Antique Victorian 14ct Rosy Yellow Gold Safety Pin

A versatile antique safety pin from the late Victorian era, c1900! Made of 14ct gold, the colour is a lovely warm antique rosy yellow hue which has a soft surface gleam. The simple and fully functional safety pin is hand crafted from rounded 1.20mm gauge wire which is curled at each end to form a natural spring tension needed whilst wearing. The sharp end rests securely into a slot with the tip tucked away. The simple design in today's modern world gives endless ideas of uses, such as a charm hanger, a simple brooch, securing a shawl or scarf, or worn on a kilt, hat or collar. It would also look cool as a necklace extender, whilst having a purpose! The pin bears a stamp which is difficult to decipher, however an acid test indicates at least 14ct solid gold. It is possible the piece is 15ct gold, though has not been XRF tested to confirm.
