A lovely vintage ruby and pearl ring from the mid to late 20th century! Made of 9ct white gold with yellow gold shank, this two-tone ring features one fiery red synthetic verneuil ruby flanked by lustrous white Akoya pearls. The good-sized 10.00mm (approx 4.00-carat) ruby rests in a six-claw setting with a round 2.80mm Akoya cultured pearl stepped down in claw/peg collet either side. The substantial white gold undercarriage features scalloped open-work, solid square collets, along with upswept shoulders finishing the setting design across the finger. A yellow gold 1.80mm wide half round shank completes the ring. Stamped "9CT" denoting 9ct white and yellow gold.

The ring presents in very good condition. Besides general surface wear, the mount retains a nice level of polish. The ruby is in superb condition with no facet abrasions, or table scratches viewed under magnification, pearls are also in great condition. Stones appear secure in settings. A wonderful vintage ring! |
