A fabulous vintage sapphire 'sunburst' cluster ring from the mid to late 20th century! Made of vibrant 18ct yellow gold, this unique ring features seven natural blue sapphire stones claw set in an open sunburst design. The marquise-cut sapphires display slightly varying hue's of lovely greenish blue to teal colour's which amalgamate beautifully. Internal inclusions in the sapphires are indicative of Australian type material. Collectively the sapphires weigh approximately 1.60 carats. A gold granule rests in the centre of the sunburst with an undulated 'free-form' under rail and split shoulder design. A smooth and solid rounded shank makes up the rest of the ring. Stamped "18CT" and another mark difficult to decipher.
Finger size of the ring measures W (Aus/UK) or 11 & 1/4 (USA).

The condition of the vintage ring is excellent. Besides general surface wear, the ring bears no damage to the claws or mount itself. Sapphires are all intact and securely set. A wonderful vintage ring! |
