A sensational vintage opal ring from the mid to late 20th century, c1970! Made of 9ct yellow gold, this eye catching ring features a colourful opal triplet stone at the centre of textured and staggered oval plaques in a Bombe design. The dark opal triplet stone displays a spectacular play-of-colour, beaming with full spectral colours of bright red, pink, green, yellow, orange, blue and violet. Surrounding the opal are multiple textured oval plaques staggering down each side and end, and placed in an eye-catching irregular pattern; The bold distinct style reminiscent of the Brutalist aesthetic movement which was popular from the 1950's to mid- 70's! A smooth half round 5mm - 3.50mm wide shank makes up of the rest of the ring.
