A wonderful vintage blue zircon and diamond ring from the Art Deco era, circa 1920's! Handmade in 15ct yellow gold and Platinum, this stunning ring boasts one 4.30ct blue zircon stone at the centre, flanked by diamond-accented ornate Deco style shoulders. The natural blue zircon displays a gorgeous vibrant blue hue with subtle green tinge, and the high birefringence of the stone gives a unique optical affect of doubling of the back facets when viewed face up. The centrepiece and shoulders are crafted in Platinum, with an open hand pierced gallery double-claw setting and decorative upswept shoulders accented with a twinkling old cut diamond and milgrain detail. A smooth half round 2mm-wide yellow gold shank makes up the rest of the ring. Stamped "15CT", the ring has been tested to 15ct gold and Platinum.
Finger size of the ring measures 'Q' (Aus/UK) or '8 & 1/4' (USA).

The condition of the vintage ring is good. Besides general surface wear, the mount itself presents in excellent condition with claws intact and stones secure. The blue zircon is showing signs of wear with some light abrasions to the table facet edges, this is not unusual for older blue zircons, albeit only really noticed under good lighting. The zircon can be repolished, if you desire. A wonderful Art Deco ring! |
