A wonderful Australian antique gold signet locket ring from the Art Deco era, circa 1920! This fabulous antique piece features a hinged locket compartment in a timeless oval signet design, hand engraved with initials H.E.R to the lid.
Inside the locket reveals a yellow gold 'fire gild' finish, and a place for your special photos, or little keepsakes to be stored. The size of the oval locket is 13.30mm length x 11.40mm width, 3.40 depth - measurements taken from external surface. A high dome 2.00mm wide shank forming into sleek widened shoulders make up the rest of the ring.
Stamps inside the ring tell us the ring was made by 20th century Melbourne manufacturing jewellers, Dumbrells (1914- 1950). Dumbrells jewellers, also known as J.N. Dumbrell, used a 'pyramid' mark with their pieces, alongside the Australian (Victorian) guarantee stamps which is that of a wheatsheaf and '9', denoting 9ct gold. The ring also bears a registration stamp indicating the design was registered, adding further significance to its antiquity!
Finger size of the ring measures V & 1/2 (Aus/UK) or 11 (USA)

The condition of the antique ring is good. Besides general surface wear, the ring presents well to the naked eye. There is a small manufacturing join split (likely there from day dot) near the letter H and where the lid would've been soldered. The split does not impede on the structure and is only seen upon close examination |
