A fabulous Ceylon sapphire and diamond cluster ring from the late 20th century! Handmade of 18ct white gold, this stunning ring adorns a 2.60 carat Ceylon sapphire at the center and a halo of twelve sparkling diamonds, the stones all placed in timeless claw settings within a basket cluster design.
The sapphire exhibits a stunning intense pale blue colour indicative of Ceylon type, or otherwise today known as Sri Lanka. Faceted in a classic and nicely proportioned oval cut, the sapphire displays a bright saturated hue and has internal inclusions characteristic of earth mined material. The sparkling halo, which steps down in height, consists of twelve 0.05 carat (approx) round brilliant cut diamonds of G-I colour and SI clarity. A simple yet elegant polished band which is upswept at the shoulders complete the rest of the ring, stamped '18CT' denoting 18ct white gold.
Finger of the ring measures N (Australia/UK) or 7 (USA).
Upon purchase the vintage ring would be accompanied by a photographic valuation certificate for insurances purposes, carried out independently by a registered NCJV/FGAA valuer. *The insurance replacement value of the ring dated 22nd of January 2024 was $11,835 AUD. The condition of the vintage ring is very good. Besides general surface wear, the mount itself presents in excellent condition with claws intact and stones secure. The sapphire does have some light table wear consistent with age, albeit difficult to detect to the naked eye. A wonderful vintage ring! |
