This lovely antique goldstone ring, crafted in the early 1900s during the Edwardian era, features a stunning oval cabochon goldstone set in a timeless bezel collet. Beautifully handmade from 18ct yellow gold, the ring is adorned with fine millgrain edging and a hand-pierced undercarriage, highlighting its antique elegance.
The opaque goldstone exhibits a reddish-brown hue, accentuated by glittery flecks that result from metallic copper inclusions, a unique optical characteristic of its manmade creation.
Often mistaken for sunstone, goldstone, also referred to as aventurine glass, was first developed in the seventeenth century by the Miotti family in Venice, Italy, making this piece a perfect blend of chic and historical charm.
Finger of the ring measures O1/2 (Aus/UK) or 71/2 (USA)
