A charming vintage ladies Swiss mechanical watch from the Art Deco era, c1930! Made of 9ct gold, the gold colour of the case is a warm rose hue. The timeless circular case has a smooth rounded bezel which has a side hinge to the front and back. The dial is a matte yellow hue with hand painted black numerals inside silver-tone circles, numeral 12 has rubbed and is faint. Hand painted black minute markers accent the outer dial, along with "SWISS MADE" placed to the bottom. Keeping in style with the Art Deco genre is original blue anodized Breguet hands. So striking!
Inside the case is a Swiss 15-Jewel mechanical movement which currently works well. It will require interaction with the owner to work - a simple wind of the crown to kick-start the cogs every time it's worn. The inside of the case is stamped "SWISS "9CT", denoting 9ct gold and Switzerland origin.
Complementing the Art Deco watch and threading through the hinged lugs is the woven nylon strap. A later addition, the quality German Eulit-brand strap is new - old floor stock from the 1960's from the 'air-look' range. It is a neutral ecru colour with gold-tone EULIT embossed buckle. Adjustable, fit most wrist sizes.
An elegant vintage timepiece. Perfect for any vintage lover, and a pleasing way to reading the time!

*Please note the watch currently works, keeping accurate time within a 12-hour period. However, the mechanical movement has not been serviced so does not come with a guarantee. Typically mechanical watches of this era, if working, either gain or lose between 5 -10 minutes as the cogs wind down.

The watch is in good vintage condition. Besides general surface wear and some minor case dings, overall the watch faces up well. Numeral 12 is faint, albeit still readable, and there is some mild dial marks which are seen at certain angles. Unbelievably it is still ticking and keeps time within a 12-hour period! A gorgeous vintage timepiece! |
