A sensational vintage ladies CERTINA-brand watch from the 1980's! Made of lustrous 18ct yellow gold, this sleek all working ladies watch has a lovely west to east oval shaped case with easy-to-read dial. The dial is a matte gold colour with gold applied stick indexes and black hands. The integrated band (also in 18ct gold) is a beautiful smooth fine mesh tapered bracelet with a ladder CERTINA-signed snap clasp and hinged security lever. A subtle bark matte finish adorns the surface of the bracelet, giving a luxurious semi-gloss silk look. The case is polished.
Inside the case reveals the original Certina Swiss 17-Jewel mechanical movement which works and keeps time. It will require interaction with the owner to work - a simple wind of the crown to kick-start the cogs every time it's worn. An original CERTINA 18ct gold crown (winder) changes the time with ease. The inside of the case is stamped "CERTINA" "SWISS" "18K750" "126" "800524268", there is also hand-inscription dates by watchmakers - a sign that the watch was regularly serviced and well maintained. The serial number of the watch is 800524268 as indicated by the stamps to the internal and external case back.
The watch is accompanied with its 1982 CERTINA booklet, stamped with the serial number (800524268), date (24 -12 -82) and retailer (Congdon' Time Centre, Adelaide).
The watch measures approx 17cm (minimum) long, band width measures 7.10mm near clasp to 14mm at lug, and case measures 21mm x 17mm.

The watch presents in very good vintage condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the case or dial which appear in pristine condition. The band is in great condition with just a few small kinks (typical for this style) though only seen when laid out flat and not noticed whilst wearing. Clasp works well with firm click. The watch is currently in working order and keeping good time |
