A superb muff or also known as guard chain from the Victorian era, circa 1880-1900! Made of 9ct gold, the colour is a warm antique rose yellow hue which would compliment with either a rose or yellow gold pendant. The necklace design is a flat and smooth oval belcher linkage with a beautiful sheen seen at different angles. When worn on the neck the necklace has a luxurious supple feel against the skin. Length of necklace measures 60" inch double and 120" inch single. Whether you intend to use necklace to attach a pendant or wear alone, you will love the versatility of owning one of these in your collection. There is an original 9ct gold swivel attached as well as an oval jump ring which was a later addition to necklace. The total weight of muff chain is 16.96 grams - the gauge of belcher links measure just under 3mm. There are stamps placed to the swivel, the old '9c" stamp along with perhaps the makers mark "CDB", chain has also been tested to 9 carat gold.
