A timeless pair of sapphire and diamond stud earrings from the late Edwardian era, c1910's! The earrings are made of 9ct white gold. Originally for non-pierced ears, the earrings have recently been converted into earrings for pierced lobes with a threaded post and butterfly clip. A gorgeous cluster design, and taking centre stage is a royal blue sapphire, which is faceted in an older style round-cut - the sapphires are the early synthetic verneuil (aka flame-fusion) type, typical of the era. Estimated total weight of the blue sapphires is 0.60 carats. Surrounding the sapphires are a halo border comprised of seven dazzling old-cut diamonds, which collectively have an overall estimated weight of 0.56 carats between the two earrings. All of the stones are claw and bead set. There is a lovely pierced crown style undercarriage, adding further antiquity character to the earring studs. On the back of each stud is a white gold secure threaded post and butterfly clip (stamped '375').
A charming and timeless pair of sapphire and diamond earrings studs. Perfect for the sapphire admirer, or perhaps the special lady with a September birthday!
