A fabulous antique Victorian agate brooch, hailing from Scotland from the late 19th century, c1880! Also known as Scottish pebble jewelry, the 3-dimensional good-sized piece is crafted in sterling silver and forms the shape of a star atop of individual circle outline. A cairngorm citrine gemstone embellishes the centre, displaying a lovely soft yellow amber hue. The stone from the Cairngorms, a mountain range in the eastern Highlands of Scotland. An array of Scottish agate and jasper stones have been meticulously hand-cut and inlaid into the design. The polished agate and jasper stones display beautiful warm Autumnal tones with the jasper stones exhibiting a marble-esque pattern, and a plain solid colour, along with banded patterns to the agate stones. One of the agate stones does have a nick to the end, however does not detract from the elaborate design. A beautiful hand engraved feather like pattern embellishes the silver. The back has a pin and cone-shape tube connection
A superb piece of Scottish history which would add an impressive accessory to the scarf, lapel or wherever you desire to show it off. Charming!
