A superb guard, or also known as muff chain from the Victorian era! This solid 8k Gold one is a beautiful smooth double-curb link style, a nice length at 54" and whether you intend to use it to attach a pendant or wear alone, you will love the versatility of owning one of these in your collection. There is an original 8k Gold screw swivel attached as well as a split ring which is not gold and has been added later. The split ring aids in keeping the necklace together as two strands whilst wearing. The total weight of guard chain is 35.75 grams- the links are solid, not hollow, the gauge of links measure 2.85mm wide x 1.6mm thick. There are no stamps or hallmarks evident, however has been XRF tested to above 8 carat gold
