Interesting Fact:
Tahitian South Sea Pearls
Commonly known as "Black Pearls," Tahitian pearls actually consist of the widest spectrum of exotic colors of any pearl such as peacock green, silver green, blue, and eggplant colors just to name a few. These pearls are produced by the Pinctada Margaritifera oyster. Tahitian South Sea pearls are farmed in French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, the Micronesian Islands and, to some extent, in Japan, Thailand and The Philippines. These pearls have become some of the most sought-after, expensive pearls in the world.
