This wonderful duet clip is from the Art deco era- circa 1930, it is crafted in 800 silver. The European 800 silver standard hints this piece possibly originates from France or Germany. Also stamped is the makers mark "MSZ". The duet clips are fashioned into an elongated graduated spray design ..... or at a quick glance angel wings! Accented with sparkly marcasite gems and milgrain edges. Both clips work superbly and have been well maintained over the years.

In the day, these dress and fur clips first appeared in the 1920's, in 1927 the double (duet) dress clip was discovered by Louis Cartier that let two twin clips attaching to each other, to be worn as a brooch, or worn separate as matching dress, fur or shoe clips. Clever little invention this was....!

Today, they can be used in imaginative ways such as on a hat band, ribbon belt, shoulder straps, rim of a purse, dress shoes, scarf or earrings ...or brooch.
