A stunning example of Victorian Celestial jewellery! A dazzling example of Australian Antique jewellery! This 15ct gold opal starburst and clover brooch pendant dates back to late Victorian era, c1900. Depending on your desired style this beautifully crafted piece can be worn as a pendant or brooch. Twinkling at varying angles and pleasing to the eye, this piece boast 43 solid crystal opals which display vibrant colors of green, blue, purple, pink and orange. Each cabochon-cut opal is meticulously calibrated throughout the star and clover design, measuring 1.80mm smallest to 2.70mm largest diameter. The six-pointed star is interposed by a opal-set 3 leaf clover- a motif which is not often seen with the Victorian star!

The piece is hand-crafted in 15ct yellow gold. Corresponding karat stamp is seen on the reverse, along with the Australian makers mark- a 'unicorn' and 'W'. A stamp which was used by the firm Willis & Sons of Melbourne, Australia, and used prior to the firm adopting the Victorian Jeweller's Association mark in 1903.

Reverse of piece has a pin with cone-shaped enclosure for wear as a brooch. It also has a single wire hook for wear as a pendant. Yellow-tone safety chain and pin connects for extra security as brooch, it is easily detachable for wear as pendant.
