A sweet antique bamboo brooch dating back to late Victorian era, circa 1900! The bamboo motif was popular during late Victorian through to early Edwardian and often represented luck. This antique brooch is crafted in 9ct gold, the gold color is the wonderful antique rose with yellow highlights. The reverse side of brooch is flat and smooth.
The back of brooch is stamped with an Australian makers hallmark of a 'unicorn', '9' and 'W'. This is the hallmark of T Willis and Sons Pty Ltd, Melbourne, used prior to the company adopting the Victorian Jeweller's Association mark in 1903.
Brooch measures 4.90cm in length and 4mm wide. There is a metal pin and gold 'C' clasp on the reverse.
