This Saxon Sterling Silver sundial was produced in 1975 by the Ransome Gallery of London. The solid 77.2 gram sundial features natural emerald gemstones set into both sides of the sundial, as well as emerald gemstones set into the 'serpent' like rod attachments. There is gilt silver to the top which is embellished with twisted wire. The latin inscription to each side: Pax Possessorei "Peace to the Possessor" and Salvs Factori - "Health to He Who Toils". And the front and back are the 'Latin' months in the year (6 months to each side). This is a replica, original dates back to 980 A.D.

Hallmarked with the lion passant (sterling silver) and lion (London) and the letter 'A' ( year 1975)
This sundial measures 72mm / 2.83" inches long x 19.70mm/ 0.80"inch wide, 6.50mm./ 0.25"inches thick, the total weight is approx. 77.2 grams.
