A step back in time is this original 1950's restored marcasite watch! The charming sterling silver watch features sparkling marcasite gems which accent bezel, lugs, band....right down to the fold over clasp! The design reflects Art Deco period with the moon-shaped links (which are beautifully tapered) rectangular case and milgrain edging. Original patina has been left, giving a classic vintage look. The engine turned dial is a creamy-white shade with yellow gold numerals, batons and hands - painted on the dial is the brand "STAFFORD", "17 JEWELS" "SHOCKPROTECTED" "SWISS".
The manual-wind 17 jewels mechanism has been serviced & oiled, it has also had a new glass. There is a 6 months guarantee from date of purchase. A simple wind of the crown to kick-start the cogs is needed every time it's worn.
The case measures 20.00mm long x 14.60mm wide and the decorative band measures 9.60mm wide near lugs tapering down to 6.30mm wide near clasp. The ladder style clasp gives a slight variance in the the length - from 17cm to 18cm.
