A stunning jelly opal and white sapphire bracelet, dating to the Art Deco era, c1930! The bracelet is made of 9ct rose gold with silver topped settings. The striking handmade bracelet consists of seven hinged links on a pierced 'book' chain. Three prong-set oval cluster links boasts a solid opal at the centre with a halo of dazzling white sapphires; a slightly larger centre cluster dominates. A small rectangular sapphire-accented link rests in-between the clusters, along with a stylized pierced sapphire-accented end link. The four smaller links are finished with milgrain edging... adding further style and pizzazz!
The beautiful jelly opals display a striking luminescence with a predominant play of blue and green, flashes of reddish-orange can also be seen when moved in the daylight! The round old-cut white sapphires twinkle like diamonds - they're the older synthetic verneuil type (indicative of the era).
Adding further Deco charm is the elaborate hand piercing to the back of each link …the attention to detail is divine! A lovely book style chain makes up the rest of the bracelet, with an integrated box tongue clasp and figure 8 safety connection for extra security. No stamps to the bracelet are seen, tests indicate approx. 9ct rose gold and sterling silver.
The bracelet is a shorter length at 15.50cm (6" inches) total length.

| The overall condition of the bracelet is very good. Besides normal surface wear the bracelet presents to the naked eye in terrific vintage condition. Seen under magnification is minor sapphire facet abrasions and nicks to some, although the subtle signs of age does not detract from the overall aesthetics of the bracelet. The opal stones are intact and all stones appear secure in their settings. Stunning on! |
