A wonderful antique ruby and diamond bangle from the Art Deco era, circa 1920's! Crafted in 18ct yellow gold, this dainty bangle dazzles with a ruby and diamond cluster at the center. A natural pinkish red oval-cut ruby rests in the middle, surrounded by a halo of twelve early brilliant cut diamonds. The lightweight hinged bangle is comprised of stacked open wires with the top half of the middle wire further accented with a row of three sparkling diamonds either side of the cluster. The bangle forms a subtle taper at the back. A push clasp and safety figure eight connection secures the bangle at the side. Also, there are two rings near the clasp, where a safety chain once attached from, though likely upgraded and altered with a secure figure eight safety connection at some stage. Stamped on the back of the clasp is an "18K" gold purity mark.
The bangle measures 58mm x 52mm inside diameter, and 6 & 3/4" around the inside.
A beautiful yet timeless antique bangle. Perfect for night or day wear and a very fitting gift for the ruby admirer! Ruby is July's birthstone.
