A lovely pair of Australian 'aquamarine' Paste stud earrings from the mid 20th century, circa 1950! Hand made of 9ct yellow gold, the pair boast a bright blue paste stone (imitating aquamarine!). The timeless oval cut paste stones display a wonderful transparency of pale 'sky' blue and glisten beautifully from every angle. Each stone rests in a four-claw collet setting with an outer frame accented with 'sawtooth' sides. A wire screw-back fitting attaches to the back. The inside collets are stamped "9ct" "Rodd" denoting solid 9ct gold and prominent 20th century Australian manufacturing jewellery firm, Rodd (also known as Apex prior 1948).
The size of the earrings measure approx 12.50mm x 9.00mm and sit around 5.50mm high on the lobe. The paste stones measure approx 10mm x 8.00mm.
A dazzling pair of vintage earrings, sure to be noticed on the lobe!
