A beautiful pair of blue and white sapphire earrings from the mid 20th century! Crafted in 8ct gold and silver tops, these lovely ear dangles feature an array of two larger dark blue sapphires through to four smaller light greenish blue sapphires. The stunning varying hue's of the six sapphires are indicative of Australian provenance, with some displaying internal colour zoning which is typical of earth mined material. The combined estimated weight of the six blue sapphires is 2.50 carats. Twenty four dazzling white sapphire stones complement the blue sapphires nicely - the white sapphires are an assortment of the older lab verneuil type and natural material.
The earring design comprises of three hand-wrought sections; clusters at the bottom, central elongated leaf sections, and single square claw tops to screw-back ear connections. The sections are suspended from small loops in-between, allowing for an elegant sway whilst wearing. All of the sections have silver tops and gold bases, as well, a milled edging to the leaf sections and fancy hand-pierced undercarriages to the clusters … all adding further charm and detail to these gorgeous earrings!
Total length of the earrings measure 3.50cm long.
A gorgeous vintage dangle in the lobe, perfect for any sapphire admirer. We think the pair would also make a lovely bridal accessory!
