A wonderful antique oval locket from the Victorian era, mid to late 19th century! Made of gilt metal, the color of the locket is a lustrous yellow hue. The plump locket features striking repousse work to the front side, depicting a gleaming shield motif surrounded by a laurel wreath, and ornate flourishes decorate the background … Victorian glamour! The reverse is plain and smooth with a rounded profile. The inside of the locket reveals an old photo of an elegant Victorian lady behind a frame and glass, and opposite there is a purple liner, glass and frame. You may like to adorn the inside with your special keepsakes or photos. The locket opens and closes nicely with a soft snap. A yellow tone jump ring attaches to the top. The size of the locket measures 2.80cm length (without jump ring) x 2.00cm width.
