A lustrous Mikimoto pearl necklace from the mid 20th century, c1950! The uniform Mikimoto pearl necklace comprises of a single knotted 24" long strand of ninety-four luminous Akoya cultured pearls. The pearls measure 5.50mm - 6.00mm - pearls meticulously positioned along the strand from 5.50mm pearls at the back neck, to an ever so subtle graduation of 6.00mm pearls at the front. The pearls display a spectacular surface lustre which radiates from each pearl …indicative of the superior Japanese Mikimoto pearl brand! The pearls are a radiant creamy white in colour with beautiful silver and pink overtones.
The necklace has been recently hand strung onto white silk with a stylized textured sterling silver hook clasp securely fastening the strand. Stamped "SIL" (denoting sterling silver) and signed with Mikimoto's signature "M" in a clamshell frame to the reverse of the clasp.
At 24" inches (61cm) long, the matinee length gives a beautiful drape on the neckline, allowing layering with other favorites, or just as nice worn alone!
A timeless Mikimoto piece that feels luxurious on the neckline, perfect for any occasion!
