A lovely geometric design of diamond-shape tortoiseshell accents the front, and a diamond-shape mother of pearl to the back. Opposite material surrounds the diamond-shape veneer either side. There is a rounded bone 'spine' accented with thin bands of tortoiseshell (centre band is missing), nicely portraying the spine of the book. Tortoiseshell sides finish the book (one upper veneer is missing) and adding further detail is a concave finish to the opposite side of spine. A gold-tone peg and good-sized oval jump ring finishes the piece.
