Such a charming vintage cocktail watch this is! Dating to the funky Retro era, (c1950), the ladies dress watch is made of sterling silver and features tiny marcasite metallic sparkles throughout! The lovely vintage watch works perfectly and the movement is made by the quality Swiss brand 'Hartford' with German-made casing. The watch comes with the original vintage Deco detailed case with silk and plush plum interior - retailer is Graham Brothers, Adelaide.
The fanciful scalloped-edge and tiered case, along with geometric band exude Art Deco and Retro elements. Tiny marcasite gems encrust the case, as well as the entire band. The timeless rectangle dial is light silver hued, contrasted and accented with blue-anodized hands and black numerals, making it relatively clear to read the time. Keeping in style with the Retro genre, an original convex glass covers and protects the dial . There is a hand-engraved swirl pattern which decorates the case edge, adding further vintage detail to this lovely watch.
Enclosed is a working mechanical 15 jewel Swiss movement. A simple wind of the crown to kick-start the cogs is needed every time it's worn. Stamped "GERMAN MADE" and "925 SILVER" inside the case, denoting sterling silver material and German made case/band.
The case measures 22mm long x 15.00mm wide. The total length of the watch measures around 17.00cm - 18.00cm. A simple and adjustable length chrome-finished ladder style clasp fastens the bracelet, and there is a safety chain connected for extra security.
The watch retains an aged-patina giving a classic vintage look. Perfect for any vintage lover, and a pleasing way to reading the time!
