A lovely vintage opal ring from the early to mid 20th century! Made of 9ct yellow gold, the hand wrought sinuous wire and granule design adds a whisper of the wonderful Arts & Crafts movement. At the centre of the ring features a stunning Australian opal doublet! The opal dances in the daylight with full spectral colours. Iridescent subtle flashes of orange, red, yellow, green, purple and blue in a gorgeous broad play of colour, all within a darker body tone. The opal measures 10.05mm x 8.60mm, and unlike typical older opal doublet material, this one has a clear resin dome top with the natural opal to the bottom - so the backside is just as tantalizing! Secured in a classic bezel setting, the opal is flanked with artistic wire detail which forms into a scroll down each side. A little granule accents each opposing diagonal side. Making up the rest of the ring is a smooth half round 2mm- 2.50mm wide band which features an open split shoulder design.
The finger size of the opal ring measures 'S' (Aus/UK) or '9 & 1/4' (USA), resizable to a degree.
A beautiful vintage opal dress ring, sure to please any opal lover!
