A wonderful pair of antique Montana sapphire dangle earrings from the late Victorian era, c1900! Made of gilt metal, the rhombus shaped earrings are ornately decorated with wonderful repoussé detail and scalloped edges. At the center of the each design rests one natural Montana sapphire stone. The Montana sapphires, also known as Yogo sapphires, are a distinct mauve-greyish blue hue with very clean clarities. The stones are likely unheated have been identified as sapphires originating from Montana, Yogo gulch by FGAA gemmologists. The Montana sapphires measure approximately 4.00mm diameter, and estimated weight of the two sapphires is 0.70 carats, combined. Simple Victorian dome accented shepherd hooks attach from the top.
