A lovely antique pen tray from the Edwardian era, circa 1906! Made of sterling silver, this wonderful pen tray features a stylized shaped border with four scrolled embossed sections and rim, giving a lovely three-dimensional look. The classy rectangular design has subtle Art Nouveau influences. There is a plain pen-well base allowing for all your pens, and or, other desk trinkets to be safely placed into.
The pen tray is made by renown British silversmith, Deakin & Francis of Birmingham, England - stamped D & F. As well a full set of English hallmarks can be seen near the rim, denoting the manufactured year 1906, Birmingham origin (anchor) and sterling standard mark (rampant lion).
The pen tray measures 8 & 1/4" inches long (21cm) x 2 & 3/4 inches wide (7cm)
