A sweet vintage silver charm bracelet from the mid 20th century! Made of sterling silver this gorgeous bracelet consists of open flower-esque pierced links with a cute dangling guilloche enamel Edelweiss flower charm. Dating to the 1950's, the charm portrays the shape of a miniature cow bell, it's even equipped with the little clapper inside giving a subtle ring when gently shaken. The guilloche enameled front surface features the flower in bloom with yellow flower heads, surrounding leaflets and green foliage, all outlined in black with white background. The back is plain.
The Edelweiss is an iconic European flower grown high in the Alpine mountains of Northern Europe. It is the national symbol for Switzerland and the name derives from Germany - edel (meaning noble) and weiss (meaning white). Throughout history, and still today, the edelweiss flower carries oodles of symbolism, and is often associated with courage and noble purity. When seen in jewellery it often translates to romantic connotations, as with 'The secret language of flowers'.
A gorgeous vintage bracelet, perfect as a gift to that someone special!
