Here is a lovely English antique gold necklace from the Edwardian era, c1910! Made of solid 9ct gold, the colour is a wonderful warm subtle pink tone indicative of antique gold. This gorgeous smooth Albert necklace comprises of open curb links, giving an elegant twist to the typical antique curb design. Every single link has a crisp "9 .375" gold guarantee mark adding further antiquity character to this stunning antique necklace. There is also makers marks "JG&S" stamped to the clips and T-bar, denoting Birmingham silversmith, John Grinsell & Sons. Suspended and dangling to the front O ring is the original T-bar which is also stamped with gold guarantee marks, as well as the attaching rings. Two original dog (swivel) clips attach at the back neck.
The antique necklace measures 41cm (16") long, the T-bar drop from chain measures 2.80cm and each link measures 10mm x 6.30mm. Total weight of the necklace is 31.90 grams. Superb condition for the 100+ year age!

The antique necklace presents in superb condition. Besides light normal surface wear, the links look to have had minimal wear over the past century with no thinning or wear to links/ clasps sighted. Swivel clips work well with excellent tension remaining. Overall, a pristine antique necklace! |
