What a lovely piece of antique agate jewellery this bracelet is, dating back to Victorian era, circa 1870-80! The wonderful mix of warm and rustic agate colours include burnt orange, green, light-dark brown, and creamy white. The banded and mossy agate varieties blend together beautifully in a oval design. Adding a uniqueness to the bracelet is the delicate quatrefoil appliqués, placed centrally to each agate ... and exuding a visual delight!

The bracelet is masterfully handcrafted in sterling silver, there is jump rings in between links and a integrated tongue clasp. A safety chain connects for extra security whilst wearing. The silver is unmarked, however tests indicate sterling silver- many of these Victorian Scottish bracelets were not hallmarked.

Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her visits to Scotland. From the mid 19th century Queen Victoria frequented Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral.

A wonderful piece of Scottish history, with beautiful all round workmanship! Bracelet would make a special addition to any collection!
