A wonderful handmade sterling silver vintage opal brooch from circa 1920-1940! The design of the brooch has a touch of the Arts and Crafts era, combined with bold retro influences. A striking ribbon flower 3-D design is accented with graduated beads, undulated lines and a lower engraved band which is scrolled to one side. The vintage brooch features three nice quality opal doublets varying in size and colour. The largest opal features full spectral colours which dance in the daylight. The middle sized opal displays vivid blues and green and the smallest opal displays predominantly blues and green with a subtle reddish orange flash. Individual bezel collets hold the opal securely, and each is bordered with twisted wire detail. There is a natural patina on the silver which has been left, adding further antiquity character. A pin and early handmade revolver clasp is on the reverse. Also on the reverse is a plaque stamped "STG.SIL." denoting sterling silver.
A distinct vintage statement brooch which is sure to receive compliments whilst wearing!
